Peri (??) is a fairy and the proprieter of the Ravenwood Hollow apothecary. Unlike most humans, she almost always speaks her mind.
Life Before Fairhaven
Her earliest memories are of being trapped by a sorcerer and forced to do his bidding. She was on a ship with this sorcerer when they crashed into the island of Fairhaven.
Other Information
An opportunistic sorcerer kept Peri imprisoned in an amulet for centuries and made her do his bidding. Eventually, Aryel helped her escape. Peri feels she owes a debt to humankind because of the harm she did on the sorcerer's orders.
Her bracelets are made from the iron amulet as a reminder to herself of what she did.
While living in Ravenwood Hollow, but before Tara's arrival, Peri was romantically involved with Tara's ancestor Vivian Wylde.

Peri: That? It makes the drinker win all the games they play. I brewed it a hundred and fifty years ago. The key ingredient is the hair of a six-toed cat. Vivian Wylde gave it to me. She was your… great-aunt? Great-great-aunt? Ai, how do humans keep track of this? Vivian always bested me in backgammon, so the potion was my revenge.
Tara: So you were friends?
Peri: I don’t kiss and tell, witchling.

Tara: So how long have you been in Ravenwood Hollow, exactly?
Peri: A handful of centuries. I could not say for certain. My earliest memories are of my labors for a sorcerer who forced me to do his bidding. He kept me in an iron amulet, and I could not break free. He was a greedy man, and he used me to trick his enemies. I did many things I did not want to do.
Tara: Please don’t tell me that there’s a sociopathic sorcerer running around this island.
Peri: No. Our ship wrecked on the coast of Fairhaven. He ran headlong into the Gloaming… only to be possessed by wraiths on the spot. Aryel drove him mad with his cries, and he threw himself into the ocean. Aryel freed me from my prison. The bracelets I wear on my wrists are that iron amulet.
Tara: A reminder of what, exactly?
Peri: Everything I did while I was the sorcerer’s thrall. When Aryel freed me, I swore to protect the humans on this island. As penance. I wonder if I will ever be able to undo the harm I caused.
Tara: Maybe you don’t need advice from some mortal spring chicken… but I have advice anyway.
Peri: Go ahead.
Tara: Have you considered forgiving yourself instead of waiting for a banner that says “YOU’RE FORGIVEN” to drop from the sky?
Peri: A curious idea. No. I had not considered that. But now I will. Thank you, witchling.
