Relationship Cutscenes[]
Friends (expand)
- How to initiate cutscene: After gaining one full heart, meet Bruno on Sunday at 8:50 a.m. at the beach below the lighthouse.
- Bruno is seen fishing on the beach and states that he's looking for flounder to make a Fried Flounder Sandwich, his late wife Helena's favorite. He tells Tara that he was born in Dresden but that his da fled Germany when he was young, and so he was raised fully in Fairhaven. He reveals that his mother was killed in a bombing before he and his da fled Germany. He expresses uncertainty about staying in Fairhaven since Otto is "all he [has]" but hardly has time for him. He concludes, "... maybe nowhere is my home these days."
Dialogue:
Tara: Heya, Bruno. Trying to catch anything in particular today?
Bruno: How’d you know? I’m anglin’ for a few flounder. Fried flounder makes the best fish sandwich. It was my Helena’s favorite lunch!
--[Choice: Delicious!]
-Tara: Mmm, that sounds so good. Let me know if you have extra!
-Bruno: I will, I will. Though I'm not the best at cookin' the thing.
--[Choice: Good luck!]
-Tara: I hope you catch the perfect flounder, then!
-Bruno: This here’s the best flounder spot on the island, so my chances are good.
--[Choice: You don’t get bored?]
-
Bruno: When I’m feelin’ a bit lonesome, I rustle up my own fish to make this sandwich. Reminds me of when Otto was a boy, and Helena was still here, and life was just the three of us…
Tara: So you’re Fairhaven born and raised?
Bruno: Raised, yes. But I was born in Dresden. My da fled Germany when I was real little.
Tara: Do you remember Germany?
Bruno: All I remember is my da tellin’ me what his life used to be like before the bombin’. That was what took my ma. I always thought Fairhaven was my only home, but now that Otto’s all I have, and he hardly has time for me… … maybe nowhere is my home these days.
Tara: Fairhaven is still your home, Bruno. Even if Otto is distracted. I haven’t been here long, but even I know your fishing shack is an island institution!
